About the course
This course aims to enhance the presence of dance at the Teatro Real through a general introduction to basic aspects of its origin and evolution over time. The course responds to the need to increase knowledge of dance as a scenic art by the audiences of the Teatro Real.
About the professor
Ana Abad Carlés is a doctor in music from the Polytechnic University of Valencia. She has participated in numerous national and international congresses, including the Congress on Serge Diaghilev in Saint Petersburg in 2019 or the recent Congress of the Dance Studies Association in New York in 2021. She was also invited to the National Dance Forum and Book Fair in Dominican Republic in 2016. She is currently a member of the research group Proyecto I+D+i: Tras los pasos de la Sílfide. Dance in Spain (1836-1936) and member of the Dance and Society Studies Research Group at UCAM.
